Imagine watching a movie without the audio. You won’t be able to sit for so long watching it, because a component is missing. The same applies to watching and viewing safari animals without a good pair of binoculars. You will see them, but you won’t see and capture important details which make game viewing interesting. To put it simply, you won’t capture the magical moments. Bear in mind that it is not advisable to get too close to animals in the safari, and chances are that during a safari tour, you are not going to be standing very close to the animal you are viewing. Viewing wildlife with binoculars makes the whole experience worthwhile.
Now, here are amazing things you may see on a safari only if you have a pair of binoculars.
Better Images
Even if your eyesight is excellent, you can’t see animals hidden in bushy areas of a safari or areas covered by trees especially if you are not standing close to these animals. A pair of binoculars gives you a clear picture of beautiful animals you wouldn’t have seen. A decent pair of binoculars with the right magnification and field of view will help you see animals up and close and clearly too. If you have binoculars, you would easily notice a Rhino’s pointed lips. With my binoculars, I discovered that the eyelashes of humans are similar to those of elephants.
Photographic Moves
I am sure you don’t want to miss moves like a lion monitoring a prey before chasing it relentlessly, or a rhino gradually standing up just because you do not have a pair of binoculars. These photographic moments come once and it is rare to see them again unless you are lucky. With a pair of binoculars you can capture such moves even when your target is covered by trees. I remember watching enthusiastically a herd of elephants trying to get a prey.
Behavioural Patterns
A good pair of binoculars does not just facilitate viewing of animals but it takes you closer to these animals and makes it easier watching how they behave. You can observe how animals protect their newborns. I watched a bull confidently marking his territory by standing on his stamping ground. You will also get to see how these animals monitor their surroundings for predators.
Slow Moving Animals
Slow moving animals are better viewed with a pair of binoculars. A good pair of binoculars allows you to zoom in on animals and watch them moving gradually. You are going to enjoy seeing some beautiful animals moving around whether at close quarters or very far from you.
Hidden Details
You can’t view clearly the spots on a leopard’s skin or see clearly the mouth of a cheetah chewing or even a lion disappearing into the distance without binoculars. If you are many metres away from a bird, and there is an object its feathers, you can’t spot that easily if you do not have binoculars. You can use your binoculars to scan and check for animals and other creatures. You probably can’t view birds hidden in a bushy area or animals hidden in the grass if you decide to go on a safari without a pair of binoculars.
If you haven’t got yourself a good pair of binoculars, be sure to get one because viewing wildlife with a pair of binoculars presents an amazing experience.
